HandsOn Systems, a Malta-based technology solutions provider, has just finalised a major contract with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) to deliver a large-scale fleet and motorcycle telematics project in Madagascar. The initiative involved the deployment and installation of 1,000 vehicles and motorcycles, marking one of the company’s most significant projects in Africa to date.
The contract, awarded by UNOPS, highlights HandsOn Systems’ growing reputation as a trusted partner for global organisations seeking innovative fleet management, asset tracking, and IoT-driven mobility solutions across emerging markets.
Founded in Malta as a small telematics company, HandsOn Systems has rapidly expanded its footprint across Africa, providing technology solutions from West Africa to the eastern regions of the continent. The Madagascar project demonstrates the company’s capacity to deliver complex, high-volume operations in challenging and remote environments, supporting UNOPS’ mission to enhance logistics and operational efficiency in critical regions.
“Collaborating with UNOPS on such a strategically important deployment is both an honour and a testament to the capabilities of our team,” said the CEO of the company – Geoffrey Farrugia. “Our solutions will help enhance operational transparency, security, and efficiency, aligning with UNOPS’ mandate to deliver sustainable and accountable projects across Africa.”
The project further underscores Malta’s growing presence as a hub for technology companies expanding beyond Europe, with HandsOn Systems emerging as a key player delivering advanced mobility solutions in developing markets.
